The Challenge

After relocating from Colorado, the homeowners wanted their new Northeast Ohio backyard to reflect the rugged, natural aesthetic they loved out west. The goal was to design a tranquil, family-focused outdoor space that brought together natural stone, boulder outcroppings, and tailored amenities, all while blending with the existing home’s architecture.

The Vision

The design needed to feel like a seamless extension of the home while offering immersive natural textures and purposeful gathering areas. The clients envisioned:

  • A covered bar and kitchen area for entertaining

  • Matched paver colors to the home’s veneer stone for a unified aesthetic
  • Introduced accent borders to define space transitions

  • Built a cedar pergola for shade, texture, and visual elevation
  • Designed and constructed a covered outdoor kitchen and bar with coordinating stone veneer

  • Installed an area for a spa, tucked into the layout for privacy and relaxation
